How late is it to become a pro racer?

I just turned 17 and I have no experience with racing. I can’t afford it and no one will take me to go karting. I’m saving money right now and planning on go karting soon. Is it possible to reach professional starting at this age? Are there any pro racers who started late? And how did they get there? Is it a risk if I splash out all my money just to get some experience?

Its never to late to do what you want! Here at pro vintage racing we have racers in their 60's and 70's that started racing in the last couple years. my advise to you is look into some of the sleds for sale out there and figure out which division you can afford. Nothing beats seat time! there are alot of racers that help others out.

Being a racer is easy if you really want it. Being a pro is possible but it takes a lot of money that you can loose. If you cant light a $100 bill on fire and watch it burn without caring your not ready to be a pro racer. But a racer ,you sure can and its about enjoying yourself first.

Build a pure stock, still fun...can race in about 4 classes and still be competitive and have fun! Gets you started, can always go up from there!

If you’ve never raced, how do you know you want to be a ‘pro racer’? This is honestly baffling to me.

Racing is hard work. It’s far more intense on the body than you will expect, and far more competitive. You go through every emotion from happiness to pure anger. I leave most race meets angry at either myself or angry at the stupid cunt that punted me off the track in the second lap. The highs make it worth it but that shit isn’t a constant tour of glee. shareit vidmate app

This forum is viewable by the public. I would recommend editing the language in your comment for the audience. We don't want to lose potential sponsorship or race venues due to unprofessional comments like this.
