CHAMP AT IRONWOOD
We have some big news to help boost the race program for spectators and publicity at Ironwood. We just got a call from the promoter; they are going to have a Champ 440 race during our Provintage Olympus weekend. The champs will run heats and semis on Saturday and will be staged with the vintage classes somewhere throughout the race program. They will be running their finals on Sunday at approximately 12:00 pm. This will NOT be a USSA ran class; the promoter will handle the tech inspections for all champ sleds. The Champ drivers will be included in the awards ceremony. Provintage racing would like to welcome the champ drivers to our event and we look forward to the excitement they will add to our race. They have agreed to pay our club dues and insurance costs. They will also become members of provintage racing and will be covered under our policy. We have reviewed our insurance coverage and adding the Champs to our event is covered under our current policy. The Champ drivers are helping out the Provintage Olympus group and have their own sponsor for extra payback. This is going to be great for the sport of Ice oval racing, and for the promoter who has been great to PVR by offering one of the greatest tracks for us to race on. All in all this will make Ironwood a huge event.
